Dr. Anthony Atala
Dr. Anthony Atala, M.D. is the Director of the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine, and the W.H. Boyce Professor and Chair of the Department of Urology at Wake Forest University. Dr. Atala is a practicing surgeon and a researcher in the area of regenerative medicine. His current work focuses on growing new human cells, tissues and organs.
Dr. Atala works with several journals and serves in various roles, including Editor-in-Chief of Current Stem Cell Research and Therapy, and Therapeutic Advances in Urology; as Associate Editor of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, The Journal of Rejuvenation Research, Nanotechnology in Engineering and Medicine, Gene Therapy and Regulation, and Current Reviews in Urology; as Executive Board Member or Section Editor of the journal Tissue Engineering and International Journal of Artificial Organs, and as Editorial Board member of the International Journal of Stem Cells, Stem Cell Review Letters, Expert Opinion on Biological Therapy, Biomedical Materials, the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, the Journal of Urology, BioMed Central-Urology, Urology, and Current Opinion in Urology.
Dr. Atala is a recipient of the US Congress funded Christopher Columbus Foundation Award, bestowed on a living American who is currently working on a discovery that will significantly affect society, and the Gold Cystoscope Award for advances in his field. Dr. Atala was named by Scientific American as a Medical Treatments Leader of the Year for his contributions to the fields of cell, tissue and organ regeneration. In 2006, he was named by Fast Company magazine as one of 50 people who “will change how we work and live over the next 10 years. Dr. Atala’s work was listed as Discover Magazine`s Number 1 Top Science Story of the Year in the field of medicine, and as Time Magazine’s top 10 medical breakthroughs of the year in 2007. A Time Magazine poll ranked Dr. Atala as the 56th most influential person of the year in 2007. Esquire Magazine in 2008 named Dr. Atala one of the 75 most influential persons of the 21st century. Fast Company Magazine named Dr. Atala one of 100 Most Creative People in Business for 2009.
Dr. Atala has led or served several national professional and government committees, including the National Institutes of Health working group on Cells and Developmental Biology, and the National Institutes of Health Bioengineering Consortium. He is currently an NIH “Quantum Grant” awardee. Dr. Atala heads a team of over 250 physicians and researchers. Ten applications of technologies developed in Dr. Atala's laboratory have been used clinically. He is the editor of nine books, including Minimally Invasive Urology, Methods of Tissue Engineering, Principles of Regenerative Medicine, and Foundations of Regenerative Medicine, and has published more than 300 journal articles and has applied for or received over 200 national and international patents.
Dr. Omar Gonzalez

Dr. J S Rajkumar
Dr. J S Rajkumar from Chennai having its own in-house stem cell lab. He is one of the pioneer laparoscopic surgeons in India who has performed more than 20000 Laparoscopic Surgeries. He is a master in Gasless Laparoscopy using Laparolift, Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery for Obesity, Endoscopic 'Endo-cinch' procedure for reflux disease, Pancreatic pseudocyst laparoscopic surgery, Pioneering work in Anti reflux surgery, Stapler Piles technique, The First series of SILS ( Single Incision Lap surgery ) in South India. He was a Part of the First Indian Liver Transplant team at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai. He is one of the youngest International Examiner for the FRCS, and has conducted First Laparoscopic Surgery Camps in Srilanka and Maldives. He has been the author of number of national & International books like "Scientific Basis of Surgery Practice", "Current Management of GERD, "Our Saan Ulagam etc. He has been actively involved with projects of Global Cancer Concern of India.
A revolution in tele-medicine with wireless technology. Under his Chairmanship, Lifeline has to its credit, of having successfully carried out stem cell therapy on paraplegic who is now walking. This is the first success story in India and the second in the world. Lifeline has done more than 500 cases so far. Lifeline has also reported success in terms of vast improvement with stem cell therapy for liver diseases on more than 150 patients as also for cardiac cases. Dr. Anoop Chaturvedi
 Dr. Chaturvedi is the founder of a not for profit organization "Antiaging Medicine and Research (AMAR)-India", a center that develops educational, clinical, and research programs for physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding the role of spirituality, wellness and health in medicine in world's largest democracy . It is his attempt to bring Age Management Medicine into the main stream medicine. His goal is to increase awareness about health and wellness and help foster compassionate systems of care for patients and their families.
He has been lecturing on the use of Bio-Identical hormones and Socio economic aspects of anti-aging in various conferences. His lectures and workshops had made BIHRT very simple for the physicians who have now incorporated it in their practice successfully. He provides worldwide support to his fellow physicians on questions and concerns related to Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy on their patients.
He joined the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and was invited to lecture in several World Anti-aging conferences on the use of Bio-Identical hormones. He also presented case report on Natural Immunomodulation using Bioidentical Hormones in A4M conference Dec 2005 in Las-Vegas. His main area of research is Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement for prevention as well as therapeutic purposes in both men and women. Dr. Ramananda Nadig
He has been appointed as president, Health Care Global-Triesta Sciences, Bangalore. He had earlier worked with Stempeutics, the Manipal Group's stem cell research and development centre as chief operating officer.
Bangalore-based doctor and researcher Dr Ramananda Nadig, who has also conducted a pilot study on the therapy on over 50 patients in 2007, met some prominent neurologists in the city today to garner support for clinical research in the region.
Speaking about the reasons to promote it, he said stem cell therapy has shown a lot of improvement in the quality of life of 600 patients in southern India, to whom the treatment was given. Dr Nadig was one of the key persons involved in drafting the guidelines on stem cell research in the country.
"Though embryonic stem cell therapy is banned on ethical grounds, we should reap benefits from adult stem cell therapy which has been proved efficacious," said Dr Nadig, who is presently the president of Triesta Sciences, an arm of Health Care Global.
"The autologous bone marrow stem cell transplantation for spinal cord injury has already been proved beneficial on 120 patients at the Lifeline Hospital in Bangalore. This was the largest study for spinal injuries in the world," Dr Nadig informed.
Rajendra Pratap Gupta
Rajendra Pratap Gupta is a Global Healthcare thought leader.
